Valley of Flowers

A UNESCO World Heritage valley in Chamoli that blooms after the monsoon arrives — 300+ alpine wildflower species peaking late July to mid-August. The trek pairs a day walk into the valley with an optional steep climb to Hemkund Sahib at 4,329 m.

Trails are well-made but rain is near-certain in season, and the Govindghat–Ghangaria approach is shared with pilgrim traffic. Permits are checked at the national park gate; the valley shuts by early October.
