How we verify

Every number on this site is traceable to a public page on the organizer's own website, with the date we checked it. Here's the whole method — no vibes, only receipts.

Where the data comes from

We read each organizer's public pages — the same ones you would — with a polite, clearly identified crawler. Prices, batch sizes, itineraries, inclusions and cancellation terms are extracted and stored with the exact source page and the phrase they came from.

Humans approve every fact

Nothing reaches this site without a human review pass. To be exact about what that approval means: we confirm the organizer published the claim, on which page, and when — never that it held up on the ground. Only a trekker who was there can tell you that, which is why their reports sit next to the claim instead of replacing it. If two pages on the same site disagree (a header price vs a booking-page price), we record the conflict instead of silently picking one — and show you the fine print note.

Unstated stays unstated

If an organizer doesn't publish their batch size, we say 'not stated' — we never guess. A missing number on a comparison is information too: ask them before you pay.

Two kinds of reviews, never mixed

Trekias reviews come from trekkers through this site and are checked against batch records before publishing. An organizer's own review claim (say, 4.7★ across 2,604 reviews on their website) is shown separately, clearly labeled as their claim, linking to their page — we don't copy review text from anywhere.

Independent, no sponsored rankings

Organizers can't pay to rank higher, and we don't sell treks — every booking link goes straight to the organizer. Sorting is by price or rating, chosen by you. If that ever changes, it will be labeled in plain sight.

How Trekias is paid for

Plainly: it mostly isn't, yet. We take no commission and no payment from organizers — no listing fees, no placement, no affiliate cut on any booking. Every booking link goes straight to the organizer's own site, and we never see whether you booked. The only money involved today is the occasional Ko-fi tip from a reader, which covers hosting. If a way of funding this ever appears — an ad, a paid feature, anything — it will be named on this page and labeled wherever it shows up, before it earns a rupee. A comparison you can't trace the money behind isn't worth reading.

The right of reply

We publish trekkers' reports about named businesses, so the fairness has to run both ways. Any organizer can respond to a report, a correction or anything else we publish about them, and their response is published alongside it — not appended somewhere quieter, not summarized by us. If they show that their page said something different at the time, we amend the report and say that we amended it. That is the same standard we hold them to, and it is why naming an organizer here is fair.

Spotted something off?

Prices move. If a number here doesn't match what an organizer quotes you, report it from their page and we'll re-verify within days. The last-checked date is shown next to every price so you always know how fresh it is.

What we measure, and what we don't

We count things, not people. We record which pages get read and which buttons get tapped, so we can tell whether the parts of this site that ask for your help are actually working. That's it — no cookies, nothing stored on your device, no account, no profile, no advertising network, and nothing that follows you to another site. Because we keep nothing between visits, we genuinely cannot tell whether you've been here before. If you write to us or submit a review, your email or phone stays private to us for that purpose alone: it is never part of what we measure, never shown on the site, and never sold — the same standard we ask of the organizers we list.
