The trek that built this site
One trek, one brochure, and the gap between them. This is the whole reason Trekias exists — in my words, with my own report attached at the bottom exactly as the site stores it.
The search
I searched "Hampta Pass booking" and got 23 organizers. The cheapest was ₹4,999, the most expensive ₹16,950 — same five days, same trail, same pass. I read every one of their websites. They all say the same things: experienced guides, quality equipment, safety first. Nothing on any of them told me what I would get for the difference.
So I did what everyone does. I guessed.
The booking
I booked TrekUp India — near the bottom of that range, five days I could follow, and a page that said batches of 30. That sounded small enough to be a trek rather than a tour. Their page showed ₹6,499 when we last read it, on 18 Jul 2026.
That was my entire reasoning, because that was the entire available information.
The trail
My batch was not the single group their page described. More than one group had been sold the same dates on the same trail, and we walked it together. A crowd that size does not move like a small group: you queue at the rope on the pass, you queue for food, and your guide's attention is divided every way at once — on an icy river crossing, attention is the thing you are actually paying for.
There was no medical kit at any camp, and no oxygen cylinder. Their page listed both.
The realisation
None of that was secret. Every person who had walked that route with them knew it. It just lived in their heads, in WhatsApp groups, and in reviews that said “good trek, nice guides”.
There was nothing I could have read that would have told me — not because anyone hid it, but because nobody had written it down in one place.
The turn
So I built the place where it is written down.
Trekias lines up what every organizer publishes, side by side, with the date we last checked it. Under each claim it shows what people who actually went say happened. The brochure stays. The report sits next to it. You decide which one you believe.

Pulled live from the same table every trekker's report goes into — the batch count, what was missing, and what held up. None of it is typed into this page: edit it in the admin and this page changes.

One report, one batch
This is what I saw in June 2026. It is not a rating of the company, and Trekias does not turn it into one — a single report is a data point, never a verdict.
You have been on a trek. You know something a brochure doesn't.
Thirty seconds is enough — the number of people actually on your trail is the single most useful thing you can hand the next person.
