Know before you go
A stiff crossover from Dhaula in Uttarakhand to Sangla in Kinnaur, gaining altitude relentlessly to the 4,650 m pass. The route keeps changing its stage set: the hanging village of Jhaka, a three-tiered waterfall, snow bridges, and the final steep gully to the top.
Long days, sustained gradients and snow slopes put it firmly in the difficult grade — most organizers ask for prior high-altitude experience. May–June and September–October are the windows.
